------------------------------------------------------------------- TEST NAME RESULT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HEPATITIS Be ANTIGEN NEGATIVE INTERPRETATION:- 1. Hbe Ag appears soon after HBs Ag in detectable peaks during the acute disease and disappers before HBs Ag is cleared from the serum. 2. Persistence of Hbe Ag is an important indicator of continued active viral replication continued infectivity and and probable progression to chronic hepatitis. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HEPATITIS BE ANTIBODY; ANTI HBE AB(5816) TEST RESULT -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Antibody to Hepatitis Be Antigen NEGATIVE (ANTI Hbe) --------------------------------------------------------------------- INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS :- • Samples with S/CO values greater than 1.000 are considered Non-reactive. • Samples with S/Co values less than or equal to 1.000 are considered Reactive. LIMITATIONS OF THE PROCEDURE A nonreactive test result does not exclude the possibility of exposure to or infection with hepatitis B virus. In order to differentiate acute HBV infection from chronic HBV infection, the detection of anti-Hbe must be correlated with patient symptoms and other hepatitis B viral markers. ----------------------------------------------------- Done By AXYSM Assay (ABOTT LABORATORIES)
